Gordon G. Perkins, 68, of 3045 Joy Circle, Danville, VA died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC. Born October 7, 1942 in Danville, he was the son of Lucille Dove Chatham of Danville and the late Lee Harper Perkins. He was retired from DuPont. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Rhonda McGowan and husband, Bill of San Clemente, CA, his step-father, J. L. Chatham of Danville; two sisters, Shirley Perkins Simmons and Kathy Gale Perkins, both of Danville; his brother Harold “Buster†Perkins of Altavista, two grandchildren, Austin and Katie McGowan and his long time companion, Jean Soyars. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Adell Perkins and a sister, Linda Faye Perkins.
