Mrs. Glynna M. Adair Marshall, daughter of the late John Adair and Lillian Adair was born August 24, 1933, in Columbia, Tennessee. She and her family moved to Huntsville in 1940. As a young adult, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was a dedicated member and leader for almost 60 years. She served faithfully in the women’s Relief Society, in the children’s Sunday School and Primary programs as well as several Stake callings. Her favorite calling was being “Sister Friendly” for the children which allowed her to tell stories, give gospel centered lessons and candy (of course) to the children of the congregation.

She was married to Carlos V. Marshall, in February of 1952. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Carlos preceded her in death on June 27, 2006.

Glynna was an active Board member of the Democratic Women of Madison County for many years. She enjoyed serving and included her family in the endeavor. Glynna cared for her firstborn granddaughter while she was an infant and often took her to political events around the county.  Her granddaughter was the youngest official members of the DWMC. Glynna had a spirited personality and was the quintessential example of a strong woman. She loved Huntsville and often spoke of growing up when Huntsville was a small cotton town.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Charles Jeffrey Marshall (Judy) of Allen TX, Missy Marshall Hanks (Chris) of Huntsville, AL and grandchildren: Chelsea Hanks Swindle (Tyler) of Huntsville, AL, Charles Parker Hanks of Austin, TX,  Jacob Vernon Marshall of Texas as well as her nieces- Laura Jane Stromberg (Ed) of Spring Hill, FL and Wanda Ogletree (Perry) of Murfreesboro, TN and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
