Gloria Roberts the daughter of the late Daisy Roberts and Walter Smith was born in Lowters Village Christ Church, Barbados. She departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2018.
She was raised by her grandmother Brownie Smith of Fairview Village, Christ Church, Barbados. She was educated at St. Patrick Girls School and attended St. Patrick Church in Barbados. In 1965 Gloria moved to England to provide a better life for her children.
She pursued a career in childcare in New York. Gloria’s loving heart allowed her to provide care to Curtis and Shonda Patterson’s children, Chanei and Caleb, for many years.
Gloria was a loving, caring, sharing, loyal, happy and gentle person. She loved children, enjoyed eating, drinking and partying amongst her family and friends. She also loved a good joke, a good laugh and to talk dirt. She loved bright colors, red, silver and gold.
Gloria spent countless hours with her dear friend Beulah Tempro (deceased) and her family for many years.
In Gloria’s later years she lived at Cobble Hill Nursing Home where caregivers tended to her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Louis Roberts and her dear friend Beulah.
Gloria leaves to cherish her sweet memories: Children: Heather Waltress (Henderson), Lennox Roberts, Vibert Roberts (Areta), Jerine Roberts; Sister: Marva Branch; Grandchildren: Sanita Waltress, Nanita Waltress, Michael Waltress, Dale Neils, Sharia Roberts, Jamie Jackman, Shania Roberts; Greatgrandchildren: Serita Batson, Nyasha Waltress, Alexis Waltress, Kloe and a host of relatives and friends.
