Gloria was born on April 8, 1945 in Sioux City, IA to Edna and Kenneth Wiese. She was the oldest of four children.

Gloria met her husband, Fred, on a blind date in Roland, IA. They married in September 1962 and went on to have two children, Deb and Teresa.

Gloria began her lifelong career at the Madrid Home as a morning cook in September 1979. She enjoyed all she worked with and visiting with the residents until her retirement in October 2006 after 27 years.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gloria enjoyed following her favorite bands and dancing, going to garage sales, sipping coffee and chatting, doing puzzle books, and listening to music. One highlight she looked forward to each year was the Kock Family picnic.

Gloria joins her husband of 47 years, Fred; daughter, Teresa; parents; and parents-in-law in Heaven. She is lovingly survived and remembered by her daughter, Deb (Tim) Latta of Madrid; siblings, Peggy Wiese of Ames, IA, Pat Bush of Ogden, AR and Russ (Deb) Wiese of Roland, IA; grandchildren, Jess (Scott) Olsen, Angie (James) Armstead, and Andrew (Hannah) Latta; great-grandchildren, Emma and Zoey Olsen and Kayden, Rhett, and Ireland McCormick; nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
