Gloria J. Mezey (nee Reid), 84, of the Holiday City South section of Berkeley Township died on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at home. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she lived in Spotswood, NJ, and the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township before moving to Holiday City South 9 years ago.
She was a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church and their Rosary Society in Spotswood. She was a parishioner of St Joseph RC Church in Toms River and a member of the Holiday City South Social and Woman’s Clubs. Gloria loved to cook, especially for her family. She had a big heart, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. Family and friends were always warmly welcomed into her home. She enjoyed traveling (especially to Cocoa Beach, FL), shopping, and watching old movies. Her family and friends will miss her giving spirit. She was predeceased by her husband Julius in 1978 and her sisters Blanche Kostu and Evelyn Mendoker.
Gloria is survived by two sons; Stephen Mezey of Toms River and William Mezey and his wife Michelle of Bayville, NJ. 3 daughters; Patricia Ashukian and her husband Jack of Toms River, Gail Kipp and her husband Steve of Yardley, Pa., and Dawn Walker and her husband Robert of Cocoa Beach, Fl. 2 sisters Ruth Geardino and her husband Stanley of Fords, NJ and Joan Reid of VA. 6 Grandchildren Stephanie and her husband Steve, Shannon and her husband Garrett, Melanie, Rose, Madison and Kaitlin and 2 Great grandchildren Jaydon and Zachary.
