Glenna Martin died the morning of April 1, 2012 in Edmonds, WA from pneumonia.
She was born December 16, 1928 in Giltner, Nebraska to Ralph and Opal Stewart. Her family moved to the Wilder area of Idaho in 1934, and Boise, Idaho in 1944. She attended the Gem State Academy and Beautician College.
She married prominent Boise attorney C. Ben Martin in 1965. They moved to Kuna, ID in 1973, where they owned and operated a Beefalo ranch until 1989. She also owned and operated “The Class Act” women’s dress shop in Boise from 1983 to 1993.
She lived a life of amazing strength; losing her only two children at early ages, surviving three bouts of cancer, two strokes, and a broken hip. Taking after her mother, she loved to garden and was a fabulous cook. She was close to her siblings who have many fond childhood memories, some of which include singing and roller skating.
At the time of her death, she resided in Mukilteo, Washington, where she had moved to be close to her granddaughter, daughter in law, and great grandson. Her recent greatest joy was watching her great grandson play baseball. Glenna was a very loving and proud mother and grandmother. She vacationed with her family frequently, everywhere from Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Sun Valley, McCall and to Germany where her son was stationed in the military.
Glenna passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her family. She was much loved and will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Corrie Lynn Martin and great grandson, Devon Kashishian of Edmonds, WA; sisters, Nina Prohaska of College Place, WA and Barbara Easter of Boise, ID; daughter-in-law,Susan Martin of Mukilteo, WA ; and sister-in-law, Georgia Stewart of Caldwell, ID. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Ben Martin; sons, Gary Raye Martin and Brian “Pat” Martin; father, Ralph R. Stewart; mother, Opal L. Stewart; brother, Roger “Buck” Stewart; brother-in-law, Lynn Prohaska; and niece, Cindy Prohaska.
