Glenna was born April 7, 1950 in Chariton, Iowa to Herman Clovey Cackler and Inez (Lovell) Cackler. She passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 63 years. Glenna attended a rural school in Lucas County and graduated from Chariton High School. She attended Mercy Nursing School and received her R.N.F.A. She was a nurse at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Glenna met and married Tommy Kern on September 20, 1981. To this union two children were born: Crystal Kline and Tommy Kern, Jr. During their marriage they lived in the town of Lucas while she continued to work at Mercy hospital. She later became a traveling nurse and worked on the east coast and as far south as Texas. Glenna loved to go camping and fishing. But she and her husband Tom really loved playing country western music. Where ever they went they always found a group of people that loved to hear them play.
