Glenna Jo Harris

Glenna Jo Harris, a courageous strong beautiful daughter of our Heavenly Father was called home to start her next journey on the morning of April 18, 2016. Her earthly journey began June 11, 1942 in Soda Springs, ID, born to George and Fern Albiston. During her childhood, Glenna Jo moved to various towns in Idaho and Montana. Glenna Jo attended high school in Kalispell and Darby, MT where she graduated as Valedictorian. Her journey after high school led her to Helena, MT where she worked for the telephone company; Ma Bell. She loved this job and talked about it often. In 1961, she was set up on a blind date with a handsome man named Otis Harris who showed up on a purple Harley; she hopped on and never looked back. Glenna Jo and Otis were married November 15, 1962 in Hamilton, MT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 16, 1968. For 53 years they journeyed to different areas including Florence, MT, where they built a home and raised their family and ran their business; Harris Excavation, for 26 years.

In 1994, their journey took them to Moscow, ID where she worked side by side with Otis at Henkles and McCoy as a secretary. In 2002, they moved to Ogden, Utah where Glenna Jo worked as the office manager of Lucas Lumber and full time mom and grandma.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glenna Jo enjoyed serving in various church callings. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and spread her seeds of faith throughout her earthly journey.

Glenna Jo is survived by her best friend and husband, Otis Lewis Harris; children, Jeff (Deena) Harris, Greg (Aaron) Harris, Jody (Nate) Lucas, Tracey Harris, 22 grandchildren; brother, Ron (Sharon) Albiston, Susan (Sabe) Pfau, Pam (Nick) Fredricks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenna Jo was preceded in death by her parents.
Mom fought hard and didn’t want to leave us. A special thanks to Heidi from Davis Wound Care for her love and support.
