Glenn “Sonny” Mullen Sr., 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend of Virginia, IL, died Wednesday, July 28, 2021, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 21, 1939, in Jacksonville, the son of Everett “Dude” and Jane Draser Mullen. He married Pauline Ford on July 11, 1982, and she survives.

He is also survived by his four children, Glenn (Dawn) Mullen of Normal, Sarah (Lynn) Losey of Morton, Brian (Jill) Mullen of Springfield, and Candy (Chris) Wagner of Carrollton. He has eleven grandchildren, Alicia Mullen, Stephanie Forgas, Megan Rogers, Sam Losey, Zach Losey, Lindsey Mullen, Chloe Losey, Wes Mullen, Emily Mullen, Noah Losey and Kyle Mullen; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Paisleigh Losey, and Jace Rogers; and two brothers, David (Pam) Mullen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Mike Mullen of Beardstown. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Mullen (surviving wife Carol of Springfield).

Glenn spent 10 or more of his younger years working at the Virginia Packing Plant. He then worked for Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville for 27 years, where he was a foreman in Resin Control. After his retirement he spent many weekends camping with his children and grandchildren. He was a big fan of the St.  Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball. Glenn loved the outdoors. He spent many hours fishing with his wife and enjoyed teaching his grandkids to fish.  He always had an amazing garden which he took great pride in.
