Glenn Reviere Hughes was born in Kuna, Idaho on March 1, 1936 to Hobart and Esther Pauline Hughes.  He was the youngest of four children – two brothers, Donald and Harold and one sister, Eunice Irene who did not survive to adulthood.

Glenn grew up farming in Kuna, south of Nampa, and on a ranch in Homedale, Idaho.  He helped his father Hobart in a second hand store in Nampa, ID.

Glenn graduated from Nampa Christian High School and then went on to attend Northwest Nazarene College, now Northwest Nazarene University, where he graduated in 1958.

He married his wife of sixty-three years, Elinor, on August 15, 1958.  They had four children Colleen, Martin, Debra and Gerald.  After their marriage, Glenn worked with his father on the ranch in Homedale.

After the birth of their oldest son, they moved to Leadore, Idaho where Glenn taught school. They then moved to Caldwell where he had teaching jobs in Marshing and Wilder.  The family then moved to Nampa where Glenn had a short term teaching job in Meridian, Idaho.

He then began to work for the Idaho Department of Employment.  He also was a taxi driver for a period of time.

In 1970 Glenn moved with the family to Pocatello, Idaho for full-time employment with the Department of Employment.

Upon the illness and death of his father Hobart in 1994, Glenn and Elinor returned to Nampa to care for His mother Pauline and Elinor’s mother Rosa.  They have continued to live in Nampa.

Glenn was preceded in death by his grandparents Marshall and Lydia Hughes and Ambrose and Luzena Griffitts; his parents Hobart and Pauline Hughes; his sister, Eunice Irene, his brothers Donald and Harold and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Elinor and children Colleen, Martin, Debra and Gerald and  three grandsons, David, Daniel, and Jeremy.  He is also survived by sisters-in law Carol Hughes (Elinor’s sister), Lois Hughes, and brother-in-law and his wife Delmar and Irene Myers.
