Glenn E. Cowher, 92, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Lois “Katie” (Merryman) Cowher. They shared 39 years of marriage prior to her passing in 1987. Born in Tyrone, Pa. he was the last living of six children of the late Eadie B. and Lena E. (Focht) Cowher. Glenn served his country as an Electricians Mate on a Mine Sweeper in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Tyrone High School, and of Penn State University in 1951 with a degree in Engineering. For 25 years, Glenn was an Industrial Engineer at the former Western Electric, and retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot in 1986. He attended Calvary Wesleyan Church and Central Assembly of God in Bethlehem. Glenn was active in the United Way, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship, International Gideon’s Society, Midway Manor Crime Watch and as a Midway Manor Little League Coach. Survivors: he is survived by his daughters, Judy O’Donnell of Macungie, wife of the late Daniel O’Donnell, and Sue Pearson and her husband Brian of Allentown; 4 grandchildren, Jamie O’Donnell, and Greg, Tim and Kaitlyn Pearson; and 2 great-grandsons, Tyler and Cameron Pearson.
