Born in Glascow, Kentucky, on September 14, 1928, she was the daughter of Alexander and Zida Brooks York. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ercil Smith, daughter, Phyllis Gregory, and brother, Robert York, Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Kenneth Smith, Linda Gregory, and Larry Gregory; brothers, Tom York and Elvin York.
