Glenda Maria (Vickers) Tays, age 65 of Fairmount, passed away on October 29, 2015 at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital due to a brief illness. She was born in Marion on September 24, 1950, and was raised in Gas City. She is the daughter of Dorothy and the late Douglas Vickers.
She married Junior Tays, surviving in Fairmount, in June 1994. Glenda graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1968. She retired from Pierce Co. in Upland after 38 years of service. Glenda was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved cooking, decorating her home, and shopping. She also enjoyed taking vacations and fishing.
In addition to her husband, Junior, Glenda is survived by her mother, Dorothy Vickers, of Fairmount; sister, Rita (Jim) Spurgeon, of Marion; brother, James Lostutter Sr., of Upland; sister, Karen Cooper, of Florida; brother, Rodger Miller, of Warren; daughter, Amie Brown, of Georgia; son, Artie Brown, of Georgia; son Ray (Denise) Tays, of Marion; daughter, Dianna Tays-Boston, of Pendleton; son, Terry (Angie) Tays, of Lapel; several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; special baby, Ming, her cat. Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Vickers and brother, Dennis Vickers.
