Glenda M. Shoemaker, 70, died May 25, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.
Glenda was born January 24, 1952 in Logansport, Indiana to Lyle Swisher and Ella Scowden Swisher.
She was a graduate of Battle Ground High School (1970) and of Purdue University (1974), earning her nursing degree. She worked a Home Hospital and then spent the next many years specializing in geriatric nursing.
Glenda enjoyed collecting antique doll furniture and was a proud member of a Lafayette doll club for several years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Shoemaker, her father, Lyle Swisher, mother, Ella Swisher and son, James Bradley Shoemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Walker (Chris), stepchildren Ken Shoemaker (Theresa), Carla Shoemaker, Mitzi Cavin (Terry), grandchildren Matthew, Alex and Brock Shoemaker, Shelby Ledman (Jason), Patrick O’Brien, Caitlin Burgess (Josh), Hayden and Tyler Walker, great-grandchildren Kylee, Chloe and Connor Ledman, siblings Lloyd Swisher, Ron Swisher (Carol), and Jackie Lehman (Philip), and many loved nieces and nephews.
