Gladys “Rose” Smith, 50, of Marne, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa.
Gladys H. Wagner was born on January 4, 1959, in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of Gordon L. and Gladys H. (Burriss) Wagner.
She lived in California, New York, Mississippi, Louisiana, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Nebraska. Most recently Rose made her home in Marne.
Rose loved driving 18-wheeler trucks. She enjoyed the outdoors and had a deep compassion for animals. Rose enjoyed people and looked forward to a good conversation.
Rose is survived by her fiancé, Jim Beebe of Des Moines, IA; her son, Steve P. Smith of Elma, WA; her father, Gorgon L. Wagner of Maryville, NY; and her sister.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys H. Boyle; and her grandmother, Francis B. Nunn.
