Gladys Margaret Walters was born August 25, 1914 in Audubon County, Iowa, the daughter of Mads and Anna Marie (Beck) Walters. She grew up and attended country school in Audubon County, Iowa.
In 1931, she was united in marriage to Edvald Jorgensen. Three children were born to this union. The family lived in Audubon County until 1953, when they moved to Anita, Iowa.
Gladys was employed at the Redwood Steakhouse, the Coffee Bar, and Green Door Cafe all in Anita, Iowa.
