Gladys (Tawny) Wooley, age 92, of Destin, Florida, passed away in an assisted living facility on Friday, May 3, 2013.

Tawny was born in Salem, Ohio on December 19, 1920. Tawny was a resident of the local area since moving here in 1967. Tawny’s love of life and her love of people made her a special friend of everyone she met, especially her adopted “sisters”.

Later in life she enjoyed going to the Elks club with her good friend, Tom Rogers. She would often say, “She wasn’t an Elkette, just a dear “. All who know and loved her would say she was a big hearted lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, CR (Bud) Wooley and her son, Thomas Wooley.

Suvivors include; her son, Tod (Janet) Wooley of Pensacola, granddaughter, Dawn Sisson , great-grandchildren, Avery and Chase Sisson of Shalimar, FL, grandson, Scott Wooley of Shalimar, FL and grandson Thomas (Linda) Wooley of fort Walton Beach, great-grandchildren, Paige and Taylor of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of The Sterling House of Pensacola, FL for the loving and compassionate care they provided “Tawny”.
