Gladys Howard Stanfield, 105 of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Gladys was born on January 23, 1904 in Apison, TN to the late William and Susan Howard. She followed her husband during his career in sales. After the death of her husband, Rube Stanfield, she moved to Chattanooga. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises and was of the Methodist faith. Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Dan Stanfield, Sr.; brother, Bill Howard; sisters, Johnnie Neal, Almeda Arnold and Gertie Allen. Survivors include her son, Gene (Betty) Stanfield, Tucker, GA; daughter-in-law, Rose Stanfield; brother-in-law, Alvin (Barbara) Stanfield; grandchildren, Susan, (Rick) Hawkins, Woodstock, GA and their children, Paige and Ryan, Carol (Gary) Kline, Jacksonville, FL and their children, Jamie and Greg, Dan (Sue) Stanfield, Jr., Greensboro, NC and their children, Erin and Amanda, Scott (Karen) Stanfield, St. Augustine, FL and their children, Stacey, Steven, Summer and Sean.
