Gladys G. Wynn Sparks, the daughter of Ira and Jessie Viola Cleair Wynn was born on April 16, 1922 in Lovilia, Iowa. She was a graduate of Lovilia High School in 1939.
On January 13, 1940, Gladys was united in marriage with Roscoe Keeton. They were blessed with two children, Larry and Sandra. Gladys was later united in marriage with Wilbur Sparks in December of 1976. She was a sales assistant for Iowa Southern Utilities in Newton for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
Gladys died on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Nelson Manor Nursing Home in Newton. She was 97. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepson, Laverne Sparks; son-in-law, David Murrow; and brother, Edgar Wynn.
Those left to cherish Gladys’ memory are her children, Larry D. (Debbie) Keeton of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Sandra Keeton Murrow of Mitchellville; her stepson, Royce (Connie) Sparks of Newton; seven grandchildren, Chris, Clint, Chad, Curt, Mike, Annette and Betsy; and her 15 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
