Gladys Barker, the daughter of Omar and Ethel (Eubank) Campbell, was born October 12, 1922 in Colfax, Iowa. She attended Mingo schools.
On June 3, 1941, Gladys was united in marriage to Denver T. Barker in Princeton, Missouri. They lived in the Baxter, Iowa area prior to moving to the Mingo, Iowa area in 1958. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Gladys was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Denver in 1989; her daughter, Dixie in infancy and her brother, Gale Campbell. Those left to honor her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sally Barker of Green Bay, Wisconsin; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tom Milholin of Rogers, Arkansas; and Pam and Blaine Byal of Mingo; her six grandchildren, Dan Barker, Sheryl Baumann, William Milholin, Robert Milholin, Steve Milholin, Jordan Milholin, Bryce Milholin, Kevin Milholin, and Brandon Byal; her bother, Carroll Campbell of Boone, Iowa; her four sisters, June Maggard and Nadine Staker both of Baxter; Grace Miller an dEvelyn McCoy both of Ames, Iowa; and her many nieces and nephews.
