Gladys Arlene Wommack, 74 of Clarkston and Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Royal Plaza Care Center in Lewiston with family at her side. Gladys fought a short, courageous battle with breast cancer and inspired many with her courage and positive outlook. Gladys was born on the family farm near Genesee on June 11, 1940 to Glen and Reta (Clark) Jones. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Genesee High School. She and James E. Wommack were married on June 14, 1958 at Coeur d’Alene and had three children, Kathy, Carl and Kyle. The family lived in Spokane, Washington until 1971 when they moved to Olympia, WA where Gladys worked for the Washington State Liquor Control Board. She then became an auditor for the Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1989. Gladys and Jim owned their own small plane and enjoyed traveling the country and meeting friends whom they kept in contact with throughout their lives.
