Gillace was born in Manchester, KY, on November 29, 1949 to Pearl and Mary Ester (Patrick) Samples. Gillace was charming, he had a way about him that drew people to him. He was always on the go, hustling he called it. He had a big heart, and would give you the shirt off his back. He was the protector of the family and always there when needed. His family, especially his grandchildren, were the light of his life.
Gillace is survived by his children, Tammi Kirnes, Joseph Shimer, John Samples, Tiffany Rasor, and Gillace Samples II; his siblings Bobby Joe Samples and Wanda Sechrest; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Gillace is preceded in passing by his parents Pearl and Mary Samples; his wife of 40 years Debra “Debbie” Samples; and his children Gillace Monroe Samples, Jason Samples, and Dawn Samples.
