Gilbert Ray Blackmer age 91 went home on February 23rd, 2020 at 6:50 in the evening. He was born in Rockland, Idaho on January 17, 1929. He was one of eight children. His family moved to Eagle Idaho when he was a very young. His is survived by a loving of wife sixty-seven years, one brother of Portland Oregon, four children, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In his early years he was a cowboy and drove cattle and horses from Eagle, Idaho to Placerville and Stanley, Idaho.

He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and served his country on the battlefields of Korea, receiving the Bronze Star for Valor. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

After leaving the Army he married Ruth on August 29th, 1952. He worked as a miner in Cinnabar, Idaho and in the lumber industry in Livingston, Montana.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
