Gilbert Manuel Oliver, 94, of Rosita Avenue passed away on April 15, 2020 at Silver Creek Manor. He was the husband of the late Deolinda “Doris” (Serpa) Oliver.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Manuel and Sophie (Cabral) Oliver. He is survived by his children James Oliver and his wife Nancy, Janice Lima and her husband Joseph, Laurie Thomas, Michael Oliver and his wife Rosalie; grandchildren Brad Olivc~er, Kristen King, Kerrie Knaide, Kimberly Rose Medeiros, Cody Thomas, Hailey Thomas, Edward Rene, Michelle Raposo, Michael Oliver Jr; great grandchildren Taylor Oliver, Leah Oliver, Camden Oliver, Kaleb King, Kobe King, Logan Burns, Charlee-Ann Burns, Cooper Knaide, Madison Medeiros, Cameron Medeiros, Marc Raposo, Travis Raposo, Owen Rene, Kennedy Rene, Mackenzie Soares and great great grandson Hayden Landry. He was the brother of Edward Oliver, Delphina Sousa and the late Anthony Oliver.
Mr. Oliver was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and served as a Coxswain in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was employed as a machine operator at Kaiser Aluminum before retiring. He was a member of the VFW Post 237 as well as St. Elizabeth Church Holy Ghost Committee and Bristol, Knights of Columbus, Council 379, 4th Degree, Past Grand Knight, ,Navigator, Secretary and Treasurer.
