Gilbert Kinard, Jr., (affectionately known as “Face” or “O’Face”) departed this life on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the age of 48. Gilbert was born on May 24, 1967, in Washington, D.C. He worked as a driver with Capital Building Supply Covan Moving Co. Gilbert was a kind man and a good friend. He enjoyed life and loved being surrounded by friends and family. Gilbert enjoyed baseball, working out and was a huge Pittsburg Steelers football fan. He is survived by his mother, Carole Slaughter, his son Brandon Huntington (Christina) his three Grandchildren Hailey, Khloe, and Avery Huntington. Two sisters, Tawanna Cathey (James), Sheryl Mason and half brother and sister: Sean and Dorthea Knigge; step sister: Ulithia Laverne Slaughter and He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mary Johnson, six nephews, Darrell Kinard, Terrance Kinard, Adrian Kinard, Jordan Kinard, Quinten Mason, Jason Mason and two nieces, Tanesha Kinard, Sydney Knigge, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Gilbert Kinard, Sr. and his step father Joseph E. Slaughter, Jr., as well as his niece, Shawn Mason. He goes on to join his relatives and friends who have gone on before him.
