Gertrude V. Niedbalski 88 of South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday April 4, 2007 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Indiana. Gertrude was born August 27, 1918 in South Bend to Peter S. & Verna (Pinkowski) Witkowski. She retired in April of 1985 from Mossberg & Company, Inc. after 40 years of service.
On August 17, 1940 in South Bend, Gertrude married Arthur J. Niedbalski who preceded her in death on April 20, 1956. Surviving is a daughter, Mary Anne Niedbalski of South Bend; a son, Arthur J. (Sara) Niedbalski of Granger, Indiana; two grandchildren, Gwen Nielsen of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Kelly (David) VanRemortel of Carmel, Indiana; and four great grandchildren, Conner, & Sara Nielsen and Jackson & Lauren VanRemortel.
Gertrude was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, Apostleship of Prayer and the Harvest House all of St. Stanislaus Parish. A very special thank you to Jeannine Campbell, Ginny, Sue and Joy for their wonderful care that allowed Gertrude to stay in her home for as long as possible.
