Gertrude Miller Stalhandske, age 63, of Rensselaer passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Gertrude was born in LaPorte, Indiana on July 8, 1948. She was the daughter of Adam and Lanie (Vanderpool) Miller. On January 14, 1969, in Rensselaer, Gertrude married Dennis E. Stalhandske and he survives.
Gertrude was retired from Schumacher Electric where she had worked 23 years. Previously she had been employed at In-Tech and the Jasper County Hospital. She was a member the Rensselaer Moose Lodge. Gertrude was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, Dennis of Rensselaer, one daughter, Jody Lynne (Alan Snow, Fiance’) Malone of Rensselaer, two grandchildren, Logan Malone and Addison Grace Snow, five brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Memorials may be made to the family.
