WINSTED –BURRI – Gertrude Elisabeth Burri, 81, of Nanni Drive, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John Robert Burri. Born January 18, 1925 in Bern, Switzerland; the daughter of the late Christian August and Klara Elisabeth (Gerber) Bertsch. Her parents owned and operated a restaurant where she worked in Switzerland. She came to this country October 1, 1948. She worked for numerous restaurants retiring from Friendly’s as a Manager. She also volunteered at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for many years. She touched many people with her quick wit, laughter, encouragement and love. Trudy loved traveling, being with her family and was lovingly devoted to all her grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline (Clarence) Fosdick of Saratoga Springs, NY, Helen (Dan) Taylor of Bristol and Margot (John) Rajotte of Bristol; a sister, Lilly Siegrist of Solothurn, Switzerland; and five grandchildren, Robin Fosdick and Craig Fosdick, Holly Taylor, Benjamin Rajotte and Jessica Rajotte. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a brother, Heinz Bertsch.
