Gertrude A. Mahoney

Mrs. Mahoney passed away on Monday evening October 11, 2010 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 93 years. She was born on February 27, 1917 to the late Edgar and Delina (Gentle) McFarland. She married Bernard Mahoney in 1946 and he passed away in 1988.
Mrs. Mahoney is survived by four sons, Michael (Blanche Fraser), Dennis, Kevin (Genessa), Patrick (Irene) Mahoney; one daughter, Mary (Thomas) Pawlak; ten grandchildren, Matthew, John, Sara, Lauren, Miles, Kelvin, Erica, Daniel, Nicole and Samuel; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Therese McFarland of Bay City and Sister Mary McFarland of Farmington Hills. In addition to her parents and husband, Gert was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Beth; six brothers, Joseph, Walter, George, Elmer, James and Kenneth McFarland and four sisters, Dorothy McFarland, Bernice McFarland, Irene McFarland and Elaine “Mickey” Martinski.
Gert’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Bay Medical Care Facility 2-West for the loving care given to our mother during her stay. Your dedication and kindness will never be forgotten.
