George Thomas Yard “Tom”, 46, passed away on March 6, 2012, in Flagstaff. He was born June 3rd, 1965, in Flagstaff. Tom grew up in Flagstaff where he graduated from Flagstaff High School and attended Northern Arizona University. He worked as an animal technician with WL Gore; engineering technician with Natural Channel Design; was a skilled backhoe operator; and his greatest joy was being a cowboy on numerous ranches.
Tom was a genuine gentleman with a heart of gold. He had a strong love of nature and was an outstanding ranch hand; where he never left a gate accidently open. Tom was an animal lover; his gift as an animal whisperer was extraordinary. He enjoyed cooking and good music. His athletic interests included skiing and mountain biking. The love between Tom, his family and friends is everlasting.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mary and Victor Nackard. His memory will continue to be cherished by his father and step-mother, Dr. George and Sharon Yard of Perkinsville, AZ; sisters, Jennifer and Stephanie Yard of Flagstaff, Renee Casswell of Ventura, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Elizabeth Yard of Flagstaff; nephews, David Diaz, Charlie Moody, Trey Casswell; nieces, Anita Diaz, Shanna and Carlye Casswell; great nephew and niece, Adam and Katrina Griffin.
