Geraldine “Tibby” Bryan (maiden name Powers), of North Haven, departed this earthly life on May 14, 2022.
Gerri was a beloved mother, Nana, aunt, sister, and friend to many.
She is survived by her treasured daughter Meghan, of whom she was especially proud, her
son-in-law, Todd Solli, and their three children who gave her immense joy– Nicholas, Bryan, and
Andie. She also leaves behind her brothers, John J Powers (Sandra) and Michael Powers
(Patricia).
She was predeceased by her cherished husband Edward J. Bryan, her parents John J. Powers, Sr.
and Geraldine Powers (Moriarty), as well as her dear sister, Mary-Ellen Cafferty (Powers), and
her niece, Michelle Powers.
Gerri was an avid adventurer and world traveler whose nature was to explore, and this was the
reason for her taking a position at United Airlines, where she worked for over 30 years, and
where she eventually met Ed, her devoted husband.
She enjoyed her journeys to Australia, Hawaii, went dog-sledding on the Bering Strait in Alaska,
Switzerland, and trekked to Austria, Portugal, Brazil, Bermuda, Aurba, St. Thomas, St. Maarten,
and DisneyWorld.
around the parks, sipping cocktails in Epcot and relishing an occasional Dole Whip dessert in
Magic Kingdom.Gerri was also particularly proud that she was able to also take her parents traveling around the
world.
She loved to dance the jitterbug with her husband, Ed, and was a voracious reader, always with
a novel in her hand.
In recent years, her favorite pastime was to sit on the deck with her Cheerios and blueberries
watching her grandchildren play in the pool/yard, enjoying long talks with Nicholas, receiving
warm hugs from Bryan, and playing “school” with Andie.
