Passed away Sunday evening September 10, 2017. Gerry was born October 30, 1924 in Lawton, Michigan the daughter of Alva and Nellie (Castner) Kimble.

She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She graduated from Lawton HS and attended Mahers Business College where she received a secretarial diploma.

She was employed by the Ihling Brothers Co. for 15 years and also worked for the Kalamazoo United Way for 17 years before retiring. She was an active member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church where she participated and chaired various committees. In addition, she was an active member of the Lady Elks. Gerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and reading.

But most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, James E. Torian; a son, Michael Torian; a grandson, Kevin Smith; a sister, Frances Mullen; a brother, Bill Kimble; and two sons-in-law, Keith Smith and Stan Earl. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ann (Stephen) Pacic of Kalamazoo, and Janet Earl of Delton; 1 daughter-in-law, Terry Torian; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth (George) Pedrolini of Kalamazoo and Jean Cook of Lawton; and several nieces, nephews, and special cousins, James Castner of Lawton and Virginia Chamberlin of Paw Paw.
