Geraldine A. McAteer, 51 of Denville, NJ passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Gerri was born in Newark and grew up in Maplewood before moving to Denville. She was formerly a Vice President with Prudential Financial, where she worked for twenty years.
She was a parishioner at St. Mary’s RC Church in Denville, NJ. Gerri was proud of her Irish background. She was a member of Women of Irish Heritage and greatly enjoyed visits with extended family in County Donegal, Ireland, her parents’ birthplace. Gerri was predeceased by her beloved mother, Sara Teresa McAteer, and her sister, Marian.
Surviving are her father, Michael McAteer; five brothers, Francis of Maplewood, NJ, Michael of Newark, NJ, Patrick of Uniontown, AR, Richard and Ellen of Manchester, NJ, and John of Roseland, NJ; two sisters, Ellen of Harwich, MA, and Deirdre of Cape May, NJ; and six nieces and nephews. Gerri will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
