Gerald Victor Klee passed away in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Gerald was born on March 29, 1930 in Rogers City, Michigan, the only son of Victor and Theresa (Paull) Klee and was raised in a loving home with his seven sisters. Gerald graduated from Rogers City High School in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1949 and served two tours in Korea during the Korean War. Corporal Klee received an honorable discharge in 1952 and earned six medals for his service. He attended Northeastern School of Commerce in Bay City and graduated from a two year business administration program. He was employed at Bay City Chevrolet and then joined the Dow Chemical Company in 1956 and held various positions in the Midland plant over his 30 year career with Dow, retiring as an office supervisor in 1986. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Saginaw River and Rogers City during his retirement and spending time with his grandsons.

 

On May 4, 1957 he was joined in marriage to his wife Helen who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Ken) Soney; son, Steve (Michelle) Klee and grandsons, Kefir Klee and Knightley Klee; grand dog, Brownie and his special friends, Dusty and Kathy Bailey. Surviving sisters are Rosalie Taylor, Norma Hadley, Carol Shay and Nancy Urlaub and brother-in-law, William Shay and special nephew and friend, DuWayne Schuler. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marjorie Schuler, Alice Clifton, Ardis Bruning and brothers-in-law, Keith Schuler, Harry (Buck) Clifton, Donald Bruning, Richard Taylor, Wellard Hadley and Gerald Urlaub and nieces and nephews.

 

At the request of Mr. Klee cremation has taken place.
