Gerald Allen Self completed his ordered days on July 5, 2011. He was born on August 8, 1947 to the late JC and Ernestine Self in Red Bay, Al. He grew up in Sheffield, AL; graduated from Auburn University in 1970 with a degree in Electrical Engineering; served with the US Army in Panama; married Brenda Petree of Winston-Salem, NC in 1975; made their home in Birmingham; retired from AT&T; and worshipped, served and enjoyed fellowship with friends at Trussville First Baptist.
