Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Miller, age 81, beloved husband of Joan K. Washburn Miller of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. Son of the late Charles and Rose Norko Miller, he was born on August 10, 1927 in Bridgeport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II serving in the Philippines. Mr. Miller was employed by John Hancock as an Agent and retired from Gloria’s Garden Center, Milford. He was an avid stamp collector and was very active in The Nutmeg Stamp Club of Stratford and The New Haven Philately Society, specializing in stamps from the Philippines. Jerry coached his daughter’s softball and basketball teams, and also coached  his sons Junior Major League Baseball team. He loved sports, especially the NY Yankees and UCONN Women’s Basketball. In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Debi Miller Raflowitz and her husband Mike of Trumbull, Susan Miller Simm and her husband Roy of Chino, CA, two sons, Tom Miller of East Millinocket, ME, and Donny Miller of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Tom Jr. and Jennifer Miller, Elizabeth Raflowitz, and Taylor and Jamie Simm, two great grandsons, Kevin Miller and Ryan Rosado, and many nieces and nephews.
