Gerald Kirsch, age 82, of Wesley, Iowa died on February 27, 2014 at his home.
Gerald was born on November 19, 1931 in Algona, Iowa, the son of Peter and Regina (Becker) Kirsch. Gerald graduated from St. Joe High School in 1950. Gerald was united in marriage to Darlene Reding on July 14, 1954 in St. Joe, Iowa. After the conclusion of Gerald’s military service in 1956, they moved to Wesley where they began farming. His hobbies included farming and traveling with Darlene. Gerald was very proud of his 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Gerald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was also a Korean Veteran.
Gerald is survived by his children, Donald (Donna) Kirsch of Wesley, David (Susan) Kirsch of Wesley, Darrel (Dawn) Kirsch of Wesley, Debra (Perry) Schindler of Hinton, Duane (Karen) Kirsch of Wesley, and Dennis (Jennifer) Kirsch of Bode, 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Martin of Ennis, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents, Peter and Regina; sister, Janice Ingram; brother, Richard; infant son, Dale; and granddaughter, Angeline Kirsch.
