Gerald (Jerry) Scott James passed from this life on March 29, 2021.

Jerry was raised in Elkin, North Carolina, the youngest son of parents Earl and Alva James.

He excelled in high school football and played for Gardner Webb College for two years and went on to graduate from Wake Forest University. Upon graduation, he married Judy Hughey James, the mother of his 5 children. He then attended Stetson University Law School and went on to enjoy two careers, both a practicing attorney and businessman in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

He retired from the legal field at age 53 to focus on his business career. Through the years he launched many successful business ventures including developing an oceanfront condominium on Hutchinson Island with a friend, Bob Rigel.

Jerry later developed and operated for over 15 years the Falcon Oil Amoco Truck Stop in Ft. Pierce. His most recent business development was the St. James Self Storage Facility in Port St. Lucie. Jerry loved Paso Fino horses and was an active breeder and show participant for many years.

He is survived by his best friend and adoring wife, Kristi James, and his five children, Rob, Scott, Tyler (Bo), Abby, and Jody; grandchildren, Elva, Leaslie, Hanna, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Dolton and Callan.
