Gerald “Jerry” D. Hayes, 84, of O’Fallon, IL, born November 15, 1928, in Callao, Missouri, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Mascoutah, IL.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local #618, Shiloh United Methodist Church, and had a passion for metal detection.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert & Hazel ( nee Blew) Hayes, a Brother Harold G. Hayes, a Son Gerald “Jerry” Dean Hayes, Jr., a daughter-in-law Margaret “Peggy” (nee Simpson) Hayes, a son-in-law Mike Ferrario, first wife Lorraine (nee Walker) Hayes, and 2 grandchildren Christopher Hayes, and Amanda Hayes.
He is survived by his spouse Jeannine Rhodes Hayes (nee Spengler) of O’Fallon, IL, 3 children, Don & Carmen Hayes of Magnolia, TX, Linda Ferrario of Collinsville, IL, Danny Hayes of Swansea, IL, 2 step-children, Dianne & David Pierson of Gurley, AL, Michael & Anne Rhodes of Omaha, NE, a sister Carol Goins of Columbia, MO, 2 brother-in-laws Sydney & Carol Spengler of O’Fallon, IL, Terry & Susan Spengler of O’Fallon, IL, and 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and 1 step-grandson Jacob Pierson of Gurley, AL.
