Gerald “Gerry” Glessner age 85, of DeMotte, IN passed away on January 27, 2013, at St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point, IN. He was born on July 17, 1927, in Grant County in Indiana to Carman “Dutch” and Mildred (Cabe) Glessner, both deceased.
On January 25, 2003, he married Annette “Nettie” Knip-Ooms who survives. Gerry’s first marriage was to Doris “Jean” Davis, who passed away in 1994. His 2nd marriage was to Jeanette Woods who passed away in 2001. Gerry was an Army AMEDS and was retired from Dyer Construction, Edward A Kirk, Inc in 1990 where he was a Highway Construction Superintendent. He was a member of The American Reformed Church, a Lifetime member of American Legion Morocco Post #146, Dyer Construction monthly breakfast club, and Tysen’s coffee time. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, woodworking, and eating good food.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Annette “Nettie” Glessner. Children; David Glessner, Cicero, IN and Michael (Suzie) Glessner, Independence, MO; Step-children; Goldie Auld, Manteno, IL; Kenny (Lorie) Swartz, Fair Oaks, IN; Phyllis (Bob) Belstra, Bev (Bill) DeVries and Allan (Donna) Ooms, all of DeMotte, IN. 2 Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 23 Step-grandchildren. Brothers, Morris (Ruth Ann) Glessner, Avon, IN; Ronald (Mary Ann) Glessner, Plainfield, IN; Sister, Aileen Hunter, Peru, IN.
Preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Doris, 2nd wife, Jeanette, and brother, Jackie Glessner.
