Gerald Blaine Hoth
9 September 1946 to March 11, 2016

Gerald was born in Logan, Utah. His parents were Irene Littlefair Davidson and Clarence Leland Hoth. He was one of three children with two older brothers.

He attended Logan City Schools and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in accounting. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Washington State. While attending Utah State University he worked at the Stan Allen Insurance Agency. He also graduated from the Air Force ROTC program and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and served a tour of duty in Alaska. After completing his tour of duty in the Air Force, he worked at Wolfe’s Sporting in Salt Lake City as an accountant. He left Wolfe’s to pursue a PH.D. in Accounting at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

After completing his PH. D. degree, he taught accounting at Weber State University.
He left Weber State University to take a position teaching accounting at California State University, Fullerton. He served as the head of the accounting department at Fullerton for a number of years. He also wrote articles in the field of accounting for publication in professional journals.

He married Janet Crandall but was later divorced. He is survived by his seven children and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers of Logan, Utah, LaDell Hoth (Sharon) and Paul Hoth (Bonnie).
