Georgia Wilkins Harris, 92, of Boise died on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital in Meridian after emergency surgery on Sunday. She was born in Show Low, Arizona on March 10, 1925, to George and Fern Wilkins. She was raised in Fredonia and Phoenix, Arizona along with her brothers Darwin, Orton, and Garth. Georgia was proud to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was actively involved in family history research and served for a time as the assistant director of an LDS Family History Center in Riverside, California.
After high school, Georgia was employed by the U.S. Weather Bureau at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. It was there she met Dale R Harris, who was to become her eternal partner. After a year of courtship and engagement they were married in the Mesa Temple on February 28, 1947, enjoying a loving and devoted relationship until her husband, Dale, passed away in December, 1990. The center of Georgia’s life was her family – parents, siblings, husband and their three children Martin, James, and Melinda. Shortly after the death of her husband, Georgia began caring for her mother until she passed away in 1996.
Georgia is survived by her three brothers, Darwin of St. George, Utah, Orton of Lakeside, Arizona, and Garth of Helena, Montana; sons Martin (Sylvia) and Jim (Pam); daughter, Melinda (Ron); sixteen grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Fern Wilkins; and great grandson Braedon Robles. The family would like to thank St.
