Georgia C. Andersen, 85, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at the Colonial Manor in Anita.
Georgia Claretta Andersen was born on May 1, 1921, in Hemmingford, Nebraska, the daughter of George and Bertha Marie (Jensen) Jessen. Shortly after her birth they moved to a farm north of Walnut, Iowa.
She attended school in Walnut and graduated from Walnut High School.
In 1942 she was married to Ejler Andersen in Maryville, Missouri. Together they lived in the Brayton and Wiota areas for several years. They then bought a farm south of Atlantic and lived there until 1978, when they moved into Atlantic.
Georgia worked for Larson Ben Franklin in Atlantic for 2 years and then worked for Woolworth’s in Atlantic for 17 years.
Georgia is survived by sons, Dennis E. Andersen of Wiota, Iowa and Gary (Helen) Andersen of Hollister, Missouri; grandchildren, Jason Andersen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Carmalea Krause of Springfield, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Jessen; husband, Ejler; brothers, George, Clarence, Ted and Harvey; and sisters, Ann, Ruby, Bertha and Alice.
