Mr. George W. Cooley, 82, of Sharpsburg passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born February 17, 1932 to the late George and Lillian Hendrix Cooley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters. He is survived by his wife, June Floyd Cooley, of 59 years; daughter, Melissa King of Blue Ridge, GA; grand-daughters Amanda King and Sherry (Dustin) Nicholson of Blue Ridge, GA; great-grandchildren Isaac and Isabelle; sister/brother- in-laws: Ronald & “Tootsie” Cochran, Quinton & “Dink” Carnes, Bud & Marguerite Floyd; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Cooley was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from William’s Brothers Lumber Company of Atlanta after 34 years. His most loved hobbies were caring for his family, wood working, and yard work.
