George W. Lacy, 83, Middletown, died June 1, 2003 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born September 28, 1919 in Highland Park, Michigan, and resided in Middletown, Indiana. He was a resident of this area for most of his life. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1997 after 56 years as a Tool Maker. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He attended Pleasant Valley Christian Church in Middletown. He was a member of the UAW Local #662. He loved to fish and read. He was an accomplished pianist. He is survived by his wife whom he married May 28, 1960 in Wayne County, Mary Lou Myers Lacy; two sons, Frank Richard & wife Anita Lacy of Tipton and Stuart & wife Angela Lacy of Bedford; step-daughter, Sandra Berney of Fresno, California; a sister, Mary Ellen Wilson of Middletown; four grandchildren, Erin Lacy-Hawkins, Richard Warren Lacy, James Ryan Lacy and Devin K. Lacy; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren; a nephew, Larry Bennett of Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank R. & Grace Stuart Lacy and one brother Frank Richard Lacy II.
