George T. Colgate of Canon City, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, 28 August 2015, after 92 years on this planet. George was the last survivor of 9 children born to Albert B. and Lillian (Geraghty) Colgate of Canon City, Colorado. George graduated from Canon City High School in 1941 and joined the Army to serve his country in World War II. He was severely wounded in December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. The Army sent word home to his family that he had been killed in action.
