George T. Reagan, born June 10, 1922 and raised in Winter Haven, Florida passed away Apr. 6, 2013 in Bradenton, Florida. He was a WWII veteran in the US Navy and was on board ship heading for the invasion of Japan when the Atomic Bombs were dropped ending that war. George was a painting contractor and decorator in Manatee, Co. For most of his working career and was well respected in this community. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Palmetto Fire Department as well as being a Diver and EMT on the first Underwater Search and Rescue Squad ever formed in Palmetto. He retired from the rescue squad after bringing up the last body of eight young children drowned in the Manatee river. He was active in many civic groups in Manatee, Co.
