George R. Taylor, 88, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Mar-Ka Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL. George was born on September 10, 1929 to Richard and Gladys Taylor, nee Mantle. They preceded him in death. Along with brother, Jack Taylor; and nephew, Cal Taylor.

He married Patricia Trame on September 18, 1954. Patricia preceded him in death on March 30, 1997. George served in the United States Army as a foot soldier during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors after 35 years. He was a member of the O’Fallon Masonic Lodge, Ainad Shrine, Dania Shrine Club and the Legion of Honor and the Korean War Veterans. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t build or fix. He loved going camping and fishing especially in the White River in Bull Shoals, Arkansas.

George is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Fohne of O’Fallon, IL; two granddaughters, Andrea Fohne, Megan Fohne; brother, Don (Rosie) Taylor of Mascoutah, IL; niece, Teri (Jim) Hylski; nephew, Todd (Mary) Taylor; and great-nephew, Jake Taylor. The family would like to thank the Staff of Mar-Ka Nursing Home for their love, care and compassion that was given to George during his stay.
