George Paul Reichel, 82, of 739 Clark St., Galesburg, died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Cottage Hospital. George was born on March 7, 1926, in Germany, the son of Maxamillion and Anna Stein Reichel.
George emigrated to the United States in 1955. He married Julia Gross on April 7, 1956, in Galesburg.
Surviving George are his wife, Julia of Galesburg; a daughter, Mary Ann (Joseph) Russell of Avon; a sister, Magdalina Wolff of Germany; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Russell of Avon.
He was preceded in death by his son John on December 28, 1978, and a sister. George was a baker by trade working for Howe Anderson Bakery and lastly worked as a linesman at Maytag for over 20 years. He was a member of the Aerospace Union and the Chess Club. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church.
