He confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Grove Hill, AL. Later marrying Corene Johnson Jackson, he joined the Little Rock Baptist Church where he became active throughout the church serving in various capacities including Chairman of Deacons and Sunday School Superintendant.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Louiselle and Nancy Jackson.
George leaves to forever cherish his memories his loving wife, Corene J. Jackson, Gosport, AL; three children, George (Mercedes) Jackson and Britney Jackson, both of Whatley, AL, and Myeshia Caldwell of New York, NY; one sister, Thelma (L. D.) Jackson, Grove Hill, AL; three step-children, Zasque (Donnie) McMillian, Antoinette Johnson and Terrance (Sheila) Johnson, all of Excel, AL; one grandbaby; a devoted aunt, Mae Burroughs, Grove Hill, AL; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Author Morris, Gosport, AL.
